The Mandra Research Center
Our state of the art field research center offers unique facilities for researchers in a rural setting. It has 15 computer stations with wireless networking, printing and internet facilities. It has 3 conference rooms where training activities can take place simultaneously for over 60 persons. It is fully air-conditioned and has back-up power generating facilities in case of power breakdown. HDRF has 10 vehicles with drivers for local transportation. It has over 50 local trained field workers who are employed on contract basis for projects. There is a separate building to house resident support staff. The MRC has established links with the primary health care system, local politicians, traditional healers, social workers and NGO staff working in two sub-districts of Rawalpindi, Gujar Khan and Kaller Syedan. Our researchers based at the MRC are accepted and well-regarded by the local community.
